CentriFlow Used For Blending System

The APEC CentriFlow mass flow meter will soon be used by two major pet food manufacturers as the measuring device in their final product blending system.

An APEC rotary pocket feeder will meter the product from the finish bins across the CentriFlow and into the blending conveyor.  Each installation will be utilizing 8 of these units.

These units replace the weigh-belt or weigh screw conveyors and their associated maintenance headaches typically found in these systems.

They're Finally Gone!!

Finally!!  Those 4B RLI Roto Level Indicators we have had on hand for the last few years are gone.  Thanks to the many customers who helped us out and at the same time got a great deal on these units.

Design Forum Results In Improvements To The Mistcoater

An internal design forum team recently got together and reviewed customer suggestions along with their own ideas for making improvements to the Mistcoater.  Several good ideas resulted from this forum and will be implemented on all future units.  These improvements include:

  1. Use of a larger pipe on the mixing screws to increase strength and reduce deflection

  2. Use of a larger diameter liquid disk shaft to increase stability and strength

  3. Balancing of the liquid disks to reduce bearing fatigue

  4. Use of a heavier gauge material for the liquid disks to increase stability and strength

  5. Redesign of the hanger bearings to  reduce the obstruction and enhance cleaning on extended length mixing conveyors

  6. Extend all grease points to the exterior of the machine to make maintenance easier

  7. Automatic grease cup on the liquid disk bearings to insure proper greasing to these critical bearing points

Mistcoater Liquid Applicator

 

How It Works

The dry product falls through the machine in a cascading helical pattern.  Simultaneously, the liquid is pumped onto spinning disks located in the center of the cascading product.  The liquid is atomized and flung out into the falling product.

What Are The Advantages?

Multiple liquids can be applied at the same time through the one liquid inlet point on the machine.

No spray nozzles that clog.

No restrictions on the liquid means less head pressure is required of your pumping system.

Combine the Mistcoater with an APEC powder feeder for tack application of Digest, Gravy, Whey etc.

We've Got The Model For Your Application

"T" - Coating chamber with discharge chute

"TMX" - coating chamber with twin screw ribbon and paddle mixing conveyor (pictured at left)

"Inline" - Same technology as the "T" coater but with an overall height of 36" for locations with space constraints

Applications

Includes animal and pet food, the wood particleboard industry and cat litter production.  Also any dry, flowable product requiring an application of liquid.
